RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE REGIONAL FARMLAND PROTECTION PLAN

FOR THE TOWNS OF BRANT, EVANS AND NORTH COLLINS

            At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Brant, Erie County, New York, held at the Brant Town Hall, Brant North Collins Road, Brant, New York, in said town on the 12^th day of March, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. there were present:

            Ellen Bowman                                                Councilwoman

            Eugene Czyz, Sr.                                            Councilman

WHEREAS, family farms have long contributed to the Town of Brant, adding to the local economy, scenic landscape, culture and quality of life in the Town; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Brant recognizes Agriculture as a key component of any Revitalization Plans, present or future; and

WHEREAS, in response to the issue, the Town of Brant has collaborated with the Towns of Evans and North Collins to develop a strategy for protecting farmland and gain a better understanding of agricultural use in the Town; and

WHEREAS, this effort has resulted in the preparation of the Regional Farmland Protection Plan for the Towns of Brant, Evans and North Collins; and

WHEREAS, a public hearing regarding this plan was held on September 24, 2001 in the Town of Brant, as well as numerous public regional advisory group, working group and farmer focus group meeting were held throughout the process form June 200 to September, 2001

NO THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Brant accepts the Regional Farmland Protection Plan for the Towns of Brant, Evans and North Collins as a guide and reference for managing growth and protection farmland and open space in the Town; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this plan shall represent a means of fostering and continuing the collaborative efforts of our three Towns.

NOLAN, Town Clerk of the Town of Brant, County of Erie, New York DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing is a full and true transcript of a resolution duly adopted at a regular meeting of the Town Board held in Brant, New York on the 12^th day of March 2002, as it appears in the minutes of said meeting and that said meeting was a regular meeting called and constituted and that a quorum was present.
