This Regular Meeting of the Brant Town Board was held on Thursday November 9^th, 2022 at the Brant Town Hall, located at 1272 Brant North Collins Rd, Brant, New York at 7:00 PM.

The meeting opened at 7:00 PM.

The Supervisor instructed the Town Clerk to read the legal notice for today’s Public Hearing:

TOWN OF BRANT

NOTICE OF HEARING ON THE PRELIMINARY BUDGET

FOR THE YEAR 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Preliminary Budget for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2024 and the required Tax Exemption Impact Report will be in the Office of the Brant Town Clerk where it is available for inspection by any interested person during regular business hours and can be found online at www.brantny.com.

PUBLIC HEARING for the Preliminary Budget will be held at the Brant Town Hall, 1272 Brant North Collins Rd, Brant, NY at 7:00 PM on THURSDAY THE 9^TH day of NOVEMBER 2023.

And at such hearing, any person may be heard in favor or against any item therein contained.

Further notice is given pursuant to Section 108 of the Town Law the proposed salaries of the following Town Offices are hereby specified as follows:

Supervisor                                                                               $22,696.00

Councilman (4) x each                                                            $5,431.25

Town Clerk/Tax Collector                                                       $39,500.00

Superintendent of Highways                                                  $36,701.00

Supervisor DeCarlo asked those present if they have any questions.  Deputy Clerk Kristen Podkulski stated that at the previous Budget workshop, the Town Clerk requested the position of Town Clerk to $39,500.  At that time, it was mentioned to bring the pay to $40,000.00.  Podkulski then asked why it wasn’t changed on the new preliminary budget.

At this time, the Supervisor DeCarlo motioned to approve the Town Clerk’s position to be increased to $40,000.00.  Councilwoman Giancarlo seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken: Supervisor DeCarlo-aye, Councilwoman Giancarlo-aye, Councilwoman Marien-aye.  3 ayes, 0 nays. MOTION CARRIED.

ADOPTION OF THE 2024 BUDGET: Supervisor DeCarlo then motioned to adopt the 2024 budget, and was seconded by Councilwoman Giancarlo.  A roll call vote was taken: Supervisor DeCarlo-aye, Councilwoman Giancarlo-aye, Councilwoman Marien-aye. 4 ayes, 0 nays. MOTION CARRIED.

At 7:23 PM, Supervisor DeCarlo motioned to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Councilman Muffoletto. 4 Ayes, 0 Nays Motion Carried.
